Boston is renowned for its fantastic shopping and it would be a
crying shame to miss out on such a unique experience. You don’t
have to be a shopping fanatic to appreciate the sheer quality, quantity
and variety on offer. Whether its clothes, food, ornaments, art
galleries or music, Boston has it all and certainly won’t
disappoint. There are various different shopping areas in the city,
each with its own personality. The most notable, and also the best
known, is Newbury street which is one of the most striking and beautiful
shopping streets in the country.
The following is a list of just a couple of recommended places to
go, but it must be noted that there are also many others worth exploring.
Newbury Street: This exciting and enchanting shopping paradise extends
from the Public Garden to Massachusetts Avenue and is lined with
wonderful Victorian buildings. Everything you could possibly want
can be found here, from designer boutiques and elegant restaurants
to secondhand clothes shops and cafes. The east end of the street
is the most trendy and boasts elegant restaurants and designer boutiques.
Harvard Square: There is a very noticeable and indeed exciting
buzz about Harvard Square. The streets, which seem to intertwine
into a maze, are packed with music shops, book shops and many clothes
shops, a considerable amount of which are secondhand. A large proportion
of the square is aimed at the student sector, and there is often
live street entertainment .There are also lots of little cafes and
restaurants to choose from and more recently, a variety of trendy
clothes and gift shops have been added. While there, make sure to
check out Dunster Street, Church Street and John F. Kennedy Street.
